Her Story
About Sagarika
The Educator
Teaching is in Sagarika's blood. Her grandfather, Dr. S.C. Chakraborty, was a renowned botanist and educator. Her sister, Malavika Joshi, is a storyteller, educator, and poetess. Becoming a teacher was never a choice — it was a calling.
From 1994 to 2007, Sagarika taught at leading schools across Delhi NCR, Bhopal, Pithampur, Indore, Raipur, and Pune — building a deep, practical understanding of how children learn, grow, and need to be seen.
In June 2007, she took the leap into entrepreneurship, founding Golden Wings Child Enrichment Centre in Pune — a space dedicated to nurturing early childhood development. She ran it for twelve years, until the pandemic closed its doors in 2020.

The Pivot
When Golden Wings closed and she relocated to Chennai with her husband, Sagarika found herself at a crossroads — professionally adrift after decades of purpose-driven work.
It was her son, Tanmay, who nudged her forward — encouraging her to pursue the courses she had always been curious about: life coaching, mandala therapy, and art-based therapy. She enrolled. She found a new language for everything she had instinctively done as an educator for three decades.
Tanmay did not live to see the full flowering of what he set in motion. In his memory, Sagarika founded Blooming TanMan in April 2024 — carrying forward the spirit of someone who believed in learning, healing, and growth. Since 2022–23, she has worked with over 400 young children, young adults, and senior citizens through coaching, therapy, and mindfulness sessions.
The Purpose
Today, Sagarika works at the intersection of creativity and care. As a certified Life Coach, Art-Based Therapist, Mandala Therapist, Meditation Coach, and Facilitator, she brings structured, evidence-informed approaches to healing — wrapped in warmth and genuine human presence.
She was a TEDx speaker at TEDx Kharadi, Pune in 2024 — taking the stage to speak about mental health, resilience, and the quiet power of creative expression.
In April 2024, she founded Blooming TanMan — in memory of her son Tanmay — bringing mental wellness to children in marginalised communities who rarely have access to it. It is, perhaps, her most meaningful work yet.
